AI at work
For construction and property teams: we find out where AI or plain software saves work. Then we set out a policy and run an introductory session for your team.

How we go about it
- Step 1
Analysis
We sit down with your team to see where the work gets stuck, and where AI or software helps. Not everything needs AI; sometimes a small program is better. As software engineers we can build such a program ourselves, and we can judge what AI produces.
You get: a list of tasks where AI or software helps, with what needs checking for each.
- Step 2
Policy
An AI policy your team can work with: which tools, which data may go in (GDPR), who decides, and how the output is checked.
You get: the policy on paper, in your team’s language, ready to adopt.
- Step 3
Introduction
We show what AI can and cannot do, using your own documents, such as inspection reports and drawings.
You get: a session with your team, and the examples we used, to refer back to.
AI and automation at work
Save time and money by replacing parts of your work with AI or a custom-built tool. Our people come by and help you see where the opportunities are.
A client example: When a construction drawing is revised in AutoCAD, the company stamp has to be updated the same way on every layout. A custom plugin now saves our client half an hour on every revision of clicking through layouts, waiting for them to load, and typing.
Examples from construction and property
Tasks AI can help with. They are examples, not assignments we have carried out.
| Task | What AI does | What a person checks |
|---|---|---|
| Summarising inspection reports | Lists the defects and deadlines from a report. | Amounts, dates and failed items, against the report itself. |
| Pulling data from drawings | Reads room numbers, areas and codes off the drawing. | A sample against the drawing. |
| Tracking inspection deadlines | Pulls expiry dates from reports. | Every date, before it goes into the register. |
| Searching the archive | Answers a question in plain language, with the source. | The source document. Without a source, the answer doesn’t count. |
| Drafting standard letters | Writes a first version from your template. | The letter, before it goes out. |
Article 4 of the AI Act
Since 2 February 2025, article 4 of the EU AI Act has required organisations that use AI to see to the AI literacy of their people. On 27 July 2026 the article was amended. It now reads:
Article 4(1), since 27 July 2026
Providers and deployers of AI systems shall take measures to support the development of AI literacy of their staff and other persons dealing with the operation and use of AI systems on their behalf […]
You don’t have to guarantee a particular level; you do have to take measures. An introduction and a clear policy can be such measures.
This is not legal advice. Read the text yourself, or put your question to a lawyer.
Dos and don’ts
Ground rules for construction and property teams that work with AI, with a decision chart. Open to everyone, no sign-up. Use them as a starting point for your own policy.
